SATURDAY, MAY 6, 2023 -- SYNOD ASSEMBLY

"Seeking God's Shalom" 

This is the synod's biennial business meeting on this day only.  Voting Members are the lay elected members from each congregation, and also all active rostered leaders.  Retired rostered leaders were sent a pre-notification letter to notify the synod bishop of their desire to vote at the Synod Assembly as a retired rostered.

This event is for synod rostered ministers (Pastors and Deacons) only.  All dates 10am-2pm.  Site locations and dates emailed to each rostered leader.

Rostered ministers in our synod will gather by conference on a Tuesday or Thursday in Advent to have a short worship with Bishop Jaech and hear about the happenings in our synod and each other.

January 15-17, 2023- Rostered Under 45 Gathering

Synod Educational Gatherins

The Synod will host 3 regional Educational Gatherings that are open to all congregational members and rostered leaders this spring. This day together with people from all over our synod will include worship, two workshop sessions on a variety of interesting topics for church and individual growth, a keynote, and a boxed lunch.     ALL ARE INVITED!

Choose the best date and location that works for you to attend.

  • Hours:  10am-3:30pm all sites
  • Fee: $25 each, includes lunch, workshops, worship, keynote, displays

Keynote: Joey Ager, our Bishop’s Associate and DEM, will speak on “Sacred Encounter".  As a community organizer, Joey will talk about how we grow together as congregations, communities and society. We'll look at sacred encounters- with others, our selves, the land and God- as a foundational practice of being community together and of growing in new directions.

  • I Love to Tell the Story:  writing grants that can help fund your mission and vision (All Sites)
  • Finding Resurrection in the Tomb (Building relationships with “out of the box” ministries to renew your own ministry) (All Sites)

  • All Creation Sings (new ELCA hymnal introduction) (All sites)
  • Healing from the Legacy of Indian Boarding Schools and the Orange Banner Project (Synod Native American Work Team) (All Sites)
  • Cultivating Spiritual Imagination (Port Angeles and Tacoma sites only)
  • Faith Land Stewardship (Discerning the future of your church’s land) (All Sites)
